Former Finished Knits

Elise -- August, 2004

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora
Needles: US 8
Pattern: Debbie Bliss "Elise"
Project Details: This was the first sweater I ever knit and completed. I don't love it but it came out well. I think the biggest problem is that it sheds like crazy and I always end up with a purple BUTT!

Baby Hat for Gwen modeled by Roux -- July, 2004

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cotton Angora
Needles: US 7
Pattern: Free internet pattern
Project Details: I knit this hat for my Mom's co-worker's baby. It was a fun and quick knit made even more exciting by having Roux as the knitwear model. Seriously taking his photo made me howl with laughter because he would try to shake the hat off and then when I finally convinced him to pose, he gave me this look! Priceless!

Fisherman's Cable Pink Scarf -- March, 2004

Yarn: Rowan Polar
Needles: US 11
Pattern: Knit It?
Project Details: I started knitting this before leaving for a trip to Hawaii. I decided to take this project along and ended up finishing this while on the islands. This was a fun pattern to knit up but I think I should have added another skein of yarn to the scarf as it is a bit too short for my liking.

Kimmy Scarf-- March, 2004

Yarn: Lion Brand
Needles: US 8
Pattern: Garter Stitch Baby! Cast On 30 sts, knit until done, add fringe!
Project Details: I made this for my college roommate, Kimmie's birthday one year!

Felted Chicago Bag -- February, 2004

Yarn: Cascade 220
Needles: US 11
Pattern: Keyboard Biologist's Chicago Bag Pattern
Project Details: I LOVE this purse! It is super cool and what an awesome pattern!

Mom's Granny Square Pillow-- February, 2004

Yarn: Acrylic leftovers
Needles: US 8 or 9
Pattern: Big Ole Granny Square
Project Details: My Mother requested that I crochet her a Granny Square pillow to match her Amish Quilt. So I did and I think it came out pretty nice!

Hot Water Bottle Cozies, pattern from Rachael -- January, 2004

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran
Needles: US 7
Pattern: BAWK from Rachel
Project Details: I used different yarn colors to create two very different striped projects. At the end of the day, I think the one with more stripes is my favorite but all in all this was a great striping exercise. And now I have two wonderful Hot Water Bottle Covers! Fantastic!

Julie's Gear Stick Cover -- January, 2004

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran
Needles: US 7
Pattern: My Own!
Project Details: When Julie's Dog Zubin chewed through her gear stick handle, I made her a Gear Stick Cover based on a mitten pattern without the fingers! She used this for years until she found out where to replace her Gear Stick. I think it would be useful in cold, cold climates to keep warm.

Basketweave Hat for Matya -- December 2003

Yarn: Rowan Polar
Needles: US 11
Pattern: My own design!
Project Details: Matya had purchased a very nice white scarf but couldn't find a hat that worked with it. So after some discussion, I came up with this pattern using a basketweave pattern. I ended up making the cast on a little too tight and the overall hat a little too long but I know that Mot loves this hat and wears it whenever the weather is cold.

Neckwarmer for Mum -- December, 2003

Yarn: Rowan Polar
Needles: US 11
Pattern:
Project Details: I made this for my Mom for Christmas one year, it came out a bit too big!

Mr. W Scarf -- December, 2003

Yarn: Lion Brand Homespun
Needles: US 101/2
Pattern: Garter Stitch Baby!
Project Details: I made this for Mr. W for Christmas one year. I started knitting this when the plane left Seattle and finished as we were landing in London.

Krista Tea Cozy -- April, 2003

Yarn:
Needles:
Pattern: ChurchMouse Pattern
Project Details: Krista and I visited ChurchMouse Yarn and Tea one weekend. She found this pattern and selected the yarn and then told me she wanted me to make it for her birthday. Well since one can't refuse a request like that, I purchased everything and knit this on the way to Amsterdam. By the time I got back, I was done and it was ready to felt. This was years ago and she still uses it for her tea pot!

Amsterdam Hats -- March, 2003

Yarn: Plymouth Encore
Needles: US 8
Pattern: Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits
Project Details: When Stephanie, Diane, Jen and I headed off to Amsterdam, I decided to make everyone hats. They were needed too! Amsterdam is cold in early March!

Chunky Cabled Hat-- January, 2003

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Merino
Needles: US 11
Pattern: Hip to Knit
Project Details: This was my first cabled project and it took me ages to finish! I ripped and knitted and ripped and knitted and discovered my love for cables. Once I got it, I got it!

First Mittens -- January, 2003

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Merino Wool
Needles:
Pattern: Hip to Knit
Project Details:

Kenn's Orange Hat-- Fall, 2002

Yarn: Thaki
Needles: US 11
Pattern: Yarn Girl's Guide to Simple Knits
Project Details: When I was learning how to knit, Kenn said he was nervous and didn't want me to start knitting him things. SO I decided to knit him an obnoxious Orange hat. He loves it! He even told me that he would wear it more often if he didn't live in San Diego.
